Ph.D. student position in Germany


Project title:   Theory of electron beam induced growth of nanostructures
Duration:   The position is available immediately for a maximum of three and a half years
Salary:   Scholarship (EUR 21.000 per year)

Job description:

This position is part of a Beilstein Stiftung funded collaboration on "Structure formation on the nanometer scale by focused energy deposition".
Applications are invited for a Ph.D. student position in condensed matter theory at the Goethe Universität Frankfurt, Germany. The research activities of the group are in the field of density functional theory and manybody theory for complex magnetic materials, oxides and superconductors. Applicants should have experience in the area of theoretical solid state physics and an excellent record in physics courses. The student will work together with a Postdoc on developing a method for growth dynamics in the presence of excited carriers.

A Postdoctoral Position in High Energy Theory

Korean Physical Society is inviting qualified researchers with Korean Nationality to apply for a postdoctoral research fellow (CERN fellow) position, funded by the CERN-Korea Theory Collaboration Project of Korean Ministry of Education, Science and Technology. The anticipated appointment date is September 1, 2010.

The appointed fellow is expected to work at the theory division of CERN. The Korean CERN fellow will be treated equally with all other CERN fellows from the membership countries in terms of salary, benefits, and all other aspects. The appointed fellow is subject to CERN regulations. The appointment is for two years.
